Strings 2000 - July 10-15 2000

Accommodations

Ann Arbor is located in southeastern Michigan, and is served by the Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW). The conference will take place on the main campus of the University of Michigan, and there are plenty of places for shopping and dining within convenient walking distance. So those staying near campus will be able to get around without a car. The airport is about 25 miles from Ann Arbor, and you can take a taxi from the airport for about $45. There is also a van shuttle service that runs between the airport and campus, and stops at most hotels.

For additional information, see our travel page.

We have reserved about 400 rooms in various hotels and dormitories located both near campus and further away. You are expected to make your own reservations, and should mention that you are attending the University of Michigan Strings 2000 Conference. All rooms have been blocked for arrival on Sunday July 9 and departure on Sunday July 16.

The following are located on or near campus, and are within walking distance of the conference (the sessions will be held in the Chemistry building, at the corner of N. University and E. University Streets):
The following hotels are outside of walking distance:
In addition to the above, where we have blocked rooms, there are a numerous variety of other hotels in the Ann Arbor area. For additional information on accommodations, you may wish to see the listing at the Campus Information Center.
